When you first arrive at Adjust for Health, one of our friendly Chiropractic Assistants (CAs) will ask you to complete some simple paperwork to help us understand your health history. We will also ask you to read a short consent form that will explain a little about the safety of chiropractic (your chiropractor will discuss this with you and ask you to sign it before any treatment commences).
If you have brought any xrays or other reports, please hand them to the CA so they can be ready to be seen by the chiropractor if necessary.
We expect that you’ll be in our office for around an hour at your first visit, but please understand that we treat each patient as an individual which means your visit may take slightly more or less time.
After handing your completed paperwork to the CA, please relax and feel free to have a look at the selection of interesting reading provided. Your chiropractor will invite you into one of the three treatment rooms where a thorough history and examination will be conducted, and your treatment options will be discussed. If you both decide that chiropractic care is a good option for you, you will probably have your first chiropractic treatment right away! (If you need Xrays, or other investigations, we’ll refer you as needed to the appropriate service).
If you have children with you, they are welcome to join you in the treatment room or to play in the reception area, however it is important that you and your chiropractor are able to focus on your health for the full length of this first consultation. Feel free to discuss the options for children accompanying you with a CA when you make your appointment.
Following your first consultation, the CA will assist you to make any further appointments that you require. We ask that you pay for each consultation at the time of treatment.
Please arrive by your scheduled time, and when you arrive at the clinic for an appointment, let the Chiropractic Assistant (CA) know that you have arrived.
If you are bringing children with you, this is a good time to help them to settle into an activity in the children’s corner. They may like to play with the Duplo, ask the CA for a colouring activity, or relax in their pram while watching the fish!
Your chiropractor will take you into a treatment room to discuss your progress and provide an appropriate chiropractic treatment and advice. Before you leave, your chiropractor will let you know whether you need to change your existing treatment schedule.
The CA will assist you to make any further appointments needed, and will then accept your payment.
Many patients will be asked to take a short walk before returning to their car.
